Calcium Hydroxide or hydrated lime

Slaked lime, also known as hydrated lime or calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), is a white, powdery compound produced by adding water to quicklime (calcium oxide). This reaction, known as slaking, generates a versatile material used across construction, agriculture, water treatment, and industrial processes.
Slaked lime is produced through the hydration of quicklime, which is obtained by heating limestone (CaCO₃) in kilns.

Construction: Used in mortar, plaster, whitewash, and soil stabilization for building and road projects. Water & Waste Treatment: Neutralizes acidity, removes impurities, and aids in purifying drinking water and treating industrial effluents. Agriculture: Improves soil pH and fertility, helping plants absorb nutrients effectively. Chemical & Industrial Use: Employed in paper, sugar refining, tanning, and paint manufacturing.
