It is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth, yet high-quality quartz crystals suitable for industrial and decorative purposes are relatively rare. In Pakistan, crystal quartz is prized for both its aesthetic appeal in gemstones and its technical applications in modern industries.

- Pakistan hosts vast reserves of quartz and crystal quartz across several regions:
  - Gilgit-Baltistan: Known for high-purity crystal quartz from Skardu, Hunza, and Shigar Valley, often used in jewelry and carvings.
